Hunting provides an economic boom to the entire state of North Dakota, which often goes unnoticed. The average hunter needs several items when he or she goes hunting including food, lodging, and equipment. These purchases may seem like small transactions, but they definitely add up. Hunters in our great state spend roughly $148 million annually including $18.8 million in state taxes. Hunting is not only stimulating our economy and providing jobs, but it is also providing tax revenue for the entire state. We certainly see the benefits from hunters traveling to or through Harvey, and it is vital that hunting continues here to help boost our local economy.

Hunting Works for North Dakota is a grassroots partnership that highlights the link between hunting and the economy. Non-hunters may barely notice the influx of hunters and increased hunting-related activity each fall however, hunting creates a massive $199 million ripple effect in our economy in North Dakota. HWFND is to be commended for highlighting this fact and helping ensure that hunting will continue to benefit North Dakota for years to come.
